News from Gdansk!

The following is a direct transcription from a recent mailing received from the Mission Co-ordinators in Gdansk.  If you have been following this blog, you will know that Alan was there with Kate Grant and Graham Cleveland (as evangelists) just a few weeks ago as part of a National Mission to Poland, organised by John Grant and Nigel Gordon of the Luis Palau Association.  Just check this out - so exciting!!!
“Friends!
We have a week of evangelical meetings behind us.  The preparations were co-ordinated within the Gdansk Christian Evangelical Forum with the co-operation of the Luis Palau Association.
What a week it was!!!  We could see God’s working over 1300 people attended the meeting (around 540 believers and around 770 people searching for God).  Over 330 people noted in the questionnaires that during the meting they accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.  We interpret this as openness for God, and probably in some cases true conversion (God sees hearts).
Another fruit of the above meetings was readiness to get to know God through attendance in other meetings; discussions in small groups, lectures and movies.  The above need indicated nearly 400 participants.  The meetings took place in a very good atmosphere.  People were thankful for the invitation; here are some of the opinions:
“Today’s meeting had a great impact on me because I feel like a lost sheep that needs a Good Shepherd.”
“Rich words, calm words that come deep down from the heart.”
“The concert was super, and the lecturer’s speech was going directly to the heart.”
“The lecturer was speaking very interestingly, unfortunately it was very short.  The prayer I liked the most.”
“Bandage for the cracked soul.”
“The meeting had a great impact on me.  It was a real meeting with God and I’ve never experienced such thing before.  Thank you very much for that simple and yet piercing words.”
“Meeting in a lovely atmosphere.  It was nice to hear what the lecturer was saying.  It was good to refresh the memory of what is most important in life.  I felt the willingness of deepening my relationship with God, especially now in the marriage.”
“In today’s busy times, when your thoughts circle only around the material side of life and problems connected with it, the meeting calmed my soul.  I’m very glad that I came to the meeting; it is good to get away from that race.”
“It was cool.  I prayed today.  Probably it will be a beginning of a new path; I don’t know.”
“I think it was amazing meeting; reach a lot of reflections, thoughts.  There is a need of more such meetings.”
We give thanks to the Lord for the possibility to blaze a trail for spreading the Good News in twenty social groups!  Thank with us!  And let us pray for the further working of God!  Times fly quickly, men’s life is short.  There are still so many people not born again; fight for their salvation in the prayer.
Nowadays we are working on further meetings, which are the continuation of the evangelical meetings.  There have been recently meetings:
* 30 Oct - for the scientists; lecture by professor Richard Carhart, entitled: ‘Does science prove the relativism of morality and ethics?’
* 03 Nov - for women; organisational meeting of Pomorskie Forum Kobiet - Pomeranian Women’s Forum (we recently got accreditation of the status of foundation!)
* 09 Nov - individual meetings for men; for those which during business meetings signed the willingness to participate in the discussion groups
* 10 Nov - for the scientists; showing the movie, ‘Unlocking the mystery of Life’
* 14 Nov - organisational meetings for the leaders of newly made discussion groups for married couples
* 19 Nov - meeting for the newly formed groups for married couples with the lecture entitled, ‘Languages of love’
* 21 Nov - first meeting of the discussion groups for men
Before us:
02 Dec - mini-conference for married couples with the lectures, ‘Communication in marriage’, ‘Solving conflicts in marriage’, ‘Love and respect; the Bible perspective on marriage’
03 Dec - meeting through the Pomeranian Women’s Forum entitled, ‘Christmas Inspirations’
We ask you for the prayer!  In this case, especially for the newly formed, Study Bible group for men.  There are seven men looking for God, that indicated the willingness to participate in this group.  We ask to pray for; Krzysztof, Marek, Boguslaw, Aleksander, Pawel, Cezary and Slawomir.  We pray that the meetings, ‘The leader according to Master’s plan’, will be helpful in knowing God and giving them lots of practical applications in life.
We are thankful for the help!
Marzena and Andrzej”
Do you know, this is so humbling having been a part of this work in Gdansk.  Look at what God has done, is doing and will continue to do.  Aren’t you so grateful for the part you are playing in all of this?  I am!!  Let me know what you think - email me
Bless you
