Mission to Sofia, Bulgaria Nov 2004

A summary of the mission to Sofia where Alan was the evangelist.
With 17 events taking place the Gospel of Jesus Christ was shared with over 2000 people - teachers, local & national Politicians, Doctors and Medics, Lawyers, Ex-offenders, Businesspeople, men, women and children in restaurants, old people's homes, churches, theatres and hotels, in Sofia, Bulgaria, with 430 indicating they had received  Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour and over 120 rededicating their lives to Him.

One outstanding memory for Alan was the Civic Dinner for Politicians. He was aware that a capital city is always a tough nut to crack for many differing reasons, but thought this event was going to be very difficult.  However the attentiveness of the people present was amazing.  Three of the 25 guests recorded they had received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour and 10 had re-dedicated their lives to him.  What is even more fascinating is that the believers said that many of the re-dedications were probably first time decisions, as they were made by Orthodox Christians.  Lady Sainsbury gave a powerful testimony prior to Alan speaking at the Civic Dinner held at the Hilton Hotel.
Another highlight was the coffee event for ladies - it was amazing, with 40, 1st time decisions and 19 re-dedications.
A ‘interesting’ moment for Alan was when he stood up to present the Gospel at the ex-offenders event – being kindly informed that the Mafioso was represented in some strength……um?   The Lord was in full control – 9 made decisions for Jesus and 4 rededicated their lives to Him.  A fascinating event.
The follow up started immediately as ‘New Steps’ meetings took place within a week of the mission.
