Breakfast for the poor and homeless

This morning really touched my heart.  To stand in front of so many people who have nothing, is incredibly humbling; to the point of me thinking, ‘what an earth can I say to these people, when I have so much and they have so little’.  But I know a God that loves them and wants the best for them; a God who is pursuing them to the point of salvation of their souls and beyond.  I spoke about, ‘although they have nothing, without Jesus they are without hope’,  I told them about the ‘lost sheep’ (Luke 15:17), using myself as an example.  They really warmed to this and it was so good to see smiling faces.  The response to the ‘good news’ was encouraging.  The guys all enjoyed a hot meal following the message.  Praise the Lord for His goodness.
105 were present - 85 guests, from which 56 prayed to receive Jesus; 55 requested more information and 62 signed up for the Next Step meeting.
I’m reminded today of the greatest commandment - Jesus said, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.  The second is this, love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these’ (Mark 12:30-31).
Thank you for praying and giving - your support and sacrifice is making a huge difference in advancing the Kingdom of Heaven.
Bless you
Alan
